Tomato Syzran Early (Solanum lycopersicum) is a very rare heirloom variety originating from the city of Syzran, Russia, selected for its early maturity and outstanding flavor. This semi-indeterminate tomato produces large, round, slightly flattened red fruits with a beefsteak form, featuring dense, juicy, meaty flesh beneath thin skin. Its mild, rich, aromatic flavor recalls the finest heirloom tomatoes, with an excellent balance between firmness and tenderness. Grown as an annual in Canada, it matures in approximately 70 to 80 days and provides an early, abundant, continuous harvest.

Tomato Syzran Early thrives in full sun in rich, fertile, well-drained soil with regular watering to support the development of its large fruits. Start seeds indoors 8 to 10 weeks before the last expected frost at an ideal temperature of 22 to 28C (72 to 82F) to encourage reliable germination. Once seedlings reach 10 to 15 cm (4 to 6 in) tall and all danger of frost has passed, transplant them into the garden or containers, spacing plants approximately 60 cm (24 in) apart. Its semi-indeterminate habit remains more manageable than many vigorous varieties, but sturdy support is still recommended.
