Rocket, or Eruca vesicaria, is a delightful annual herb, cherished for its distinctive, peppery foliage. This vigorous plant thrives in well-drained soil, producing rosettes of deeply lobed leaves that add a vibrant, spicy flavour to salads and culinary dishes. Its rapid growth makes it ideal for successive sowings throughout the growing season, ensuring a continuous harvest of tender leaves. Small, cruciform flowers, often pale yellow or white, emerge in summer, adding subtle charm before the plant eventually sets seed. A truly versatile and rewarding addition to any kitchen garden.
