Alocasia Teletubbies is a rare compact cultivar characterised by thick, glossy, paddleshaped leaves with gently wavy or undulating edges. The foliage emerges a rich green and tends to hold upright on stout stems, forming a neat clump. Some sources suggest it is a possible mutation or hybrid of cultivars such as Alocasia Stingray or Alocasia Loco.

Native to:
This cultivar does not have a documented wild origin; however, the genus Alocasia is native to tropical and subtropical regions of Asia and eastern Australia.

Water:
Keep the substrate moderately moist, but ensure it is welldraining and never waterlogged. Allow the top portion of the soil (equivalent to about 1/3 of the pots depth) to dry slightly before watering again.During the cooler season in the UK, growth will slow and you should reduce watering frequency accordingly.

Light:
Provide bright filtered light, near a window with indirect daylight is ideal. Avoid exposing the plant to strong, direct midday sun, as it may scorch the leaves.If light is too low, leaf size may be reduced and the plant may become leggy and less vigorous.

Humidity:
This cultivar appreciates higher humidity levels (around 60% or more). In a UK indoor environment, you can support this by using a pebble tray with water, using a plant cabinet, grouping plants, or using a humidifier. Brown leaf edges or tips may indicate humidity is too low.

Temperature:
Maintain indoor temperatures between 18C and 25C, and avoid exposing it to temperatures below about 15C. Cold drafts or very cool rooms will stress the plant and may trigger dormancy.
