Vriesea gigantea ‘Nova’ – 12cm

Vriesea Gigantea var. Seideliana aka ‘Nova’. A spectacular clone of the original Brazilian species ‘gigantea’. The rosette reaches a massive 30 inches wide, with strap like green leaves, tessellated with light yellowish-green. As the plant matures, the striations become almost white. A shade lover and frost-tender plant

• Part of the Bromeliad family
• Attractive coloured flowers which are “Sword” shaped and very eye catching.
• Tolerant of lower light conditions.

Growth pattern: Rosette.

Water: Ensure the axel of the bromeliad is always holding some water. Do not water the substrate, this is purely for anchorage and doing so will quickly rot the plant.

Ideal Position: North or east facing.

Light: Medium to bright, indirect light.

Humidity disclaimer: This plant will grow well outside of a terrarium or cabinet. However, all tropical plants thrive with higher humidity levels. To achieve this we suggest grouping plants together, or putting them in a bathroom or kitchen which gets regular use..
