A tasty intermediate day variety that does well in western states, Utah Yellow Sweet Spanish produces large yields of onions that can weigh more than a pound each. Loved for its mild, sweet flavor and good storage. 250 seeds minimum Germination: 10-21 days Maturity: 115 days from transplant Direct sow deep in full sun as soon as soil can be worked. In northern climates, start indoors 8 weeks before last frost date. Plant multiple seeds into each container. Harden off seedlings before planting. Plant 2 seeds per inch in rows 12-18 apart. Thin to 4-6 apart for larger onions. To transplant, separate young plants and set 4-6 apart.
