The Monstera Burle Marx Flame is still a relatively unknown Monstera. Because of its large leaves with the deep notches that look like flames, this is currently a very popular tropical houseplant. At Claessen Orchids and Plants we currently offer the cheapest in Europe, but of a very good quality. The baby plants are obtained from our reliable suppliers. The appearance of this species is similar to the Monstera deliciosa var. sierrana, but the leaves are thicker and meatier.
Care
The Monstera Burle Marx Flame is a beginner plant, which is also very special because it is not yet offered in many places. The care of the plant is similar to the Monstera deliciosa, but the soorr Burle Marx Flame on the other hand, is a lot rarer. They like humidity levels above 60% and temperatures above 17 degrees Celsius. However, they do best with humidity above 70% and a temperature of 19 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, they are not very fussy plants and rather like not too wet feet, just like the Monstera deliciosa. Give this Monstera Preferably not tap water, but rather rain water because tap water can have strong fluctuations in the composition of minerals.
Origin
The Monstera Burle Marx is native to Central and South America. The species comes from a private collection in Rio de Janeiro of Roberto Burle Marx. From there the species was introduced into nurseries. The species had already been described in the 1980s, but is only now more readily available from nurserymen for collectors of rare houseplants.
