Cyrilla racemiflora (Leatherwood)

(Leatherwood) Autumn colour pictured.The sole species in the genus Cyrilla. Common along creeks and swamps preferring acid, sandy and peaty soils. Primarily evergreen however during the autumn months some of the foliage turns a brilliant red and will fall from the plant. Can be deciduous in certain climates. Most recognisable for the white flowers during the summer.
