4″ Caladium

The point of Caladiums is those big wonderful leaves! Heart-shaped, soft, satiny, and quilted, they come riotously painted in shades of deep scarlet, rose pink, bubblegum pink, cream and white, dark and light greens. All these colors combine in wonderful combinations, often with the brightly painted veins contrasting with the leaf colors, originating at the spot where the petiole attaches to the leaf and fanning down the leaf. Seen a lot at Christmas and Valentines day those riotous colors are perfect for, Caladiums are lovely in your collection of greens all the other times of the year. One note; they will sometimes go dormant, lay their leaves down and resprout after a rest. The tubers they sprout from will be happy napping with the occasional watering. Set one on a table or counter or desk to admire up close.

Quick Care Guide:

• Water – Medium (3): Water plant when dry. Plant does not like soil to always be moist, but doesn’t like to stay dry once becomes dry. Water as soon as soil is dry.
• Light – Med/High (4):Needs more light than most, but direct light not necessary. Can handlemorningand afternoon sun directly on leaves.
• Difficulty – Medium (3): Not too difficult to keep happy, but does require some attention.
