Imagine a pot of fiery red flames reaching out of the pot (ok some green too). Crassula Campfire, aptly named for the brilliant red hues. Rosettes of flaming lime green, slightly cupped, lance shaped leaves are stacked evenly on fleshy stems, not getting very tall, just fuller. The fiery red comes when the plants are exposed to drier soil (drought) colder weather and bright sunlight. The entire plant can turn the brightest red you ever saw. The color won’t revert to green later but new growth will be lime green again until it reds up too. So pretty. Not getting much taller than a few inches tall, stems will become a little woody with age. Younger stems are so rooty, they start right in making new little roots in midair. One single leaf will root readily and make a plantlet when it so much as falls on damp soil. Small white flowers top the plant now and then. Campfire is really attractive in an arrangement planting of succulents in contrasting colors when it’s in its red phase, like with a lavender one and a sage green one or a dark green one.

• Water – Low (1): Needs very little water to survive. Wait until the plant is completely dry then fully soak.Drought tolerant by nature.
• High- (5):Plant needs a lot of light; direct is even better. These plants do best when placed on a window sill or next to a bright window. Avoid concentrated, hot light from window which may cause burning(magnifying glass effect).
• Difficulty – Low (1):These plants need barely any attention to thrive. Set it and forget it.
