Heart-leaf Golden Alexanders (Zizia aptera)

A.k.a. heart-leaved meadow parsnip. A close cousin of the better known golden Alexanders (Zizia aurea), heart-leaved golden Alexanders have a slightly smaller stature, broad single leaves, and can tolerate slightly dryer soil. Hosts the black swallowtail butterfly and is and supports small, early season pollinators!
