These little rosettes make such mesmerizing geometric patterns. But what makes Gold Nugget a truly special variety of Hens & Chicks is the color change. The succulent foliage starts lime-green in summer, and then turns gold with red tips when the weather gets cold. This is a great way to make your winter garden feel festive. Just keep it protected from snow, and it’ll last into the holiday season. Gold Nugget is low maintenance, drought tolerant and reliable. Spread it as a ground cover, naturalize it in little patches around a rock garden or make a beautiful backdrop in your container garden with it. Sempervivum ‘Gold Nugget’ PP28284
