Alocasia ‘Dark Star’ is a hybrid known for its upright stems and oversized, emerald-green, heart-shaped leaves. As the plant matures, the stems and veins develop a striking dark purple hue that contrasts sharply against the green foliage. This variety was specifically bred from four different elephant ear species to combine cold-hardiness with immense scale; in ideal conditions, it can grow over 6 feet tall with individual leaves reaching 5 feet in width.
