Tetranema roseum | Mexican Foxglove

Tetranema roseum, commonly known as Mexican foxglove, is a compact, evergreen plant in the Plantaginaceae family. It features obovate, leathery leaves up to 15 cm long and produces clusters of trumpet-shaped, light purple flowers with paler throats, typically around 1.5 cm across. The plant has a bushy growth habit and can reach up to 20 cm in height.

This species is suitable for indoor cultivation, thriving in environments that can provide consistent warmth and humidity. Its compact size and preference for humid conditions make it an excellent candidate for terrariums or small indoor spaces.

Native to:
Tetranema roseum is native to regions from Mexico to Honduras, primarily inhabiting subtropical biomes.

Water:
Maintain moist but well-drained soil, ensuring it does not become waterlogged. Water moderately during the growing season and reduce watering in winter.

Light:
Prefers bright, diffused light. It can tolerate full shade and is best positioned in north, west, or east-facing aspects.

Humidity:
Thrives in moderate to high humidity levels, ideally between 6090%. Its humidity requirements make it well-suited for terrarium cultivation.

Temperature:
Prefers temperatures ranging from 18C to 24C. Avoid exposure to temperatures below 15C, as cold drafts can damage the plant.
